In John KJV Jesus, in reference to Judas Iscariot, says that of all his disciples, none has been lost except the "son of perdition". While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition.

What does Jesus mean by, "the son of perdition”. απωλειας (apoleias), the original Greek word translated "of perdition," means "of destruction" or "of ruin," so "the son of perdition" means the son of destruction or ruin.

Who is the “lost son of perdition”. Judas Iscariot, who, after betraying Jesus, committed suicide instead of repenting, and went to hell for everlasting. In fact, there are two people to which the title “son of perdition” is applied. In context, John is referring to Judas Iscariot, while 2 Thessalonians is referring to the “man of lawlessness”—the Antichrist—who will appear in the end times before Christ’s return.

The word perdition means “eternal damnation. About five years after they had been married, one morning in bed Judas's shirt bosom lay open, when she saw, under his left breast, the marks he was born with; upon which she waked him in an agony, and told him the whole story of his birth, and the part she had acted therein.

Judas was a common name in that era, and there are several other Judases mentioned in the New Testament. One of the other disciples was named Judas (John ), and so was one of Jesus’ own half-brothers (Mark ).

To differentiate, John and John refer to Christ’s betrayer as “Judas, son of Simon Iscariot.”. It is to be observed, that the Scripture makes mention of three Judases; the first in Judas Maccabeus, the second Judas the son of Joseph, the reputed father of our Lord; and third, Judas Iscariot, the son of a tanner, living in repute at Joppa, a sea-port town near Jerusalem.

This Judas who betrayed our Lord, was his mother's first child, who dreamed that the child in her womb would prove. Judas Iscariot (/ ˈ dʒ uː d ə s ɪ ˈ s k æ r ɪ ə t /; Biblical Hebrew: יהודה איש-קריות ‎, romanized: Yehûdâh Ish-Kerayot; Greek: Ὶούδας Ὶσκαριώτης) (died c. 30 – c. 33 AD) was a disciple and one of the original Twelve Apostles of Jesus ing to all four canonical gospels, Judas betrayed Jesus to the Sanhedrin in the Garden of Gethsemane.

So by that same rationale the Man of God is greater than the Son of God. Jesus was the Son of God and will come again. Judas was the son of perdition and will also come again (Revelation ). Also, the Antichrist is later called the son of perdition. 2 Thessalonians Also notice how it doesn't say, "the man of sin".

It says, "that man of. The lost and undone son of perdition; or, The birth, life and character of Judas Iscariot, faithfully collected from several ancient authors of undoubted credit.
